Two Year Update

We took some pictures of Harrison on Sunday to celebrate turning two. It was a beautiful day outside and he was in a great mood so it made for a good afternoon.

On Monday he had his two-year check up. Here are his stats:

36.5" tall (95%)
29 lbs (55%)

He's gained a little bit on both curves, so he's growing well. He's definitely one of the tallest kids his age, so anytime we visit a friend's house he helps them see what they are in for once their kids can reach the counter. He is still as curious as ever.

They even took his blood pressure this time, which he was a bit intrigued by. He was great for his appointment and although he cried after the one shot he had to get, he perked up a bit when he realized he got to pick a prize out of the prize bucket.

Harrison has started saying "hug" and giving us hugs. Good, happy, big hugs! It is just the BEST thing ever! He is so cute when he does it, he just spontaneously says "hug" and grabs you around the neck. It is just awesome.

He knows most of his colors by now. He can recognize and say blue, green, black, pink and purple. He can recognize and sign red, orange and yellow; for some reason he just won't actually verbalize those colors yet.
He is saying new words every day, and starting to put two words together. Today it was "ki ki pease" (cookie please) which we promptly rewarded with a couple of cookies as encouragement to keep it coming. Bribery at its finest :-)

He still loves Curious George and we watch it each morning when he gets up and will snuggle with us in bed before we start the day. We've started asking him which George he wants to watch, i.e. the one with the clock, the one with the tadpoles, etc. He loves to say "no" to several options before finally smiling and saying "uh uh", his version of yes, as he agrees to watch one.

He also loves the movie "Cars" and would watch it every day if we let him. He also has a Cars sticker book and is having fun recognizing and naming the cars, identifying them by color, etc.

It is fun but somewhat sad to watch him grow up so quickly. We have a hard time believing he is two already but it is amazing to watch him learn something new each day!
