Nineteen Months Old

Here are some pictures of Harrison on his 19-month birthday. I was trying to put clean clothes on him but he'd rather run around in his diaper...so here he is! He loves to climb onto our bed and play in the pillows. It is really one of his favorite things to do during the day.

He had a great weekend over Labor Day, because both of his grandmas came to visit. He couldn't get enough of them! He seems to call them both "Na Na", and had a great time playing with them. He loved to point at a chair and tell them where to sit, and also loved to take them by the hand and pull them with him somewhere. He has certainly missed having them around.

We had rainy weather for a couple of days but he didn't seem to mind being stuck inside since he had new people to entertain. He ran himself silly upstairs running from room to room, cracking up when he'd "surprise" you running into the room you where waiting in.

We signed up for a month-long Gymboree membership, and Harrison seems to be enjoying it for the most part. He definitely prefers to do his own thing vs. participating in the group activities, but he is not the only kid that feels that way. He has fun climbing all of the different slides and platforms and continually has a ball in his hand. It is a fun indoor activity for us and a great new way for him to start to interact with other kids.

Harrison is learning more signs each week, and continues to grow that vocabulary quicker than his spoken one. He knows a lot more than he can say, and it seems that any day now he should just start talking like a regular person! He can point out so many things in pictures, and can even point to different places in the house where he has seen them (like the hammer that has been sitting upstairs for weeks just waiting to help hang a few pictures) so we know he is "getting it".

Here he is checking to see if it is Grover on his diaper:

A flashlight, a birthday party and more

Harrison loves his Curious George. While watching a show the other night he insisted on holding George, among other things. He also likes to randomly grab him and carry him around the house, hugging him or pulling him in the laundry basket. It's like George really is his little friend.

Another favorite toy lately is the flashlight. Do you think this is bad for his eyes?

Harrison went to a birthday party for his friend Braden's first birthday. It was at Little Gym, and he had a fantastic time! His favorite part was hanging from the bars, as you can see.

We did have to take a break to check out the birds outside the window. He does love those birds!

Back to the bars!

Harrison actually sat in one spot for a whole 10 minutes the other day. He was so cute just perched on his little table, watching a squirrel on our back porch. He was just fascinated. We need to get that squirrel to spend more time out there for sure!
