Barrett Update

Gosh it has been awhile since I posted anything. I guess that's because we are always on the go around here and there is never really a spare second to sit down and actually document our craziness. However, I am very overdue on a Barrett update so I will do my best to remember everything he has started doing since I did a fifteen-month update on him (wow...now that I type that I realize I really am behind!!).

At Barrett's eighteen-month check-up he was 33" tall (70%) and 22lb 14oz (15th%). No wonder most of his pants don't stay up very well!

He is still talking up a storm, and it's amazing how much more he has to say each day. He is such a little parrot, and will try to say anything. Anything that is, except "more" and "all done", which I am quite sure he is capable of actually saying but instead chooses to still sign. Maybe it's because those were a couple of his first signs, who knows, but he is holding onto them and refuses to actually say those two things.

Some of the new additions to his vocabulary:
Firefly (Yep. He can say this but not "more". He calls any flying bug a firefly.)
Ha Ha (Kind of a muffled two-syllable "Harrison" but clearly he is trying to say Harrison.)
BAR (Loudly and with feeling as he demands some sort of clif bar, granola bar, etc.)
Car
Mow

His absolute favorite thing to do is use his mower. He actually has two and currently keeps one in the backyard and one in the garage for street usage. He pushes it all over the cul-de-sac, to the park, and would take it everywhere we went if we let him.

Here are some pictures from the last couple of months:

Barrett loves lollipops. He calls them "pops". Here he is in October enjoying one...I think it must have been due to some kind of bribe since they come in very handy for that!

18 months old today. We celebrated by going to the museum, and he spent a lot of time in the tunnel slide, one of his favorite spots there.

Love that smile :-)

Happy 1 1/2 Barrett!

Here we are at the end of November, and Barrett is showing his true colors. He's still a scrappy little thing and will get a wild (and aggressive) hair and jump Harrison for no reason.

Beginning of December, here they are playing on the iPad. Barrett had been content to watch until a few weeks ago and now he's all about playing on his own. He can navigate it very well and is surprisingly good at some of the apps.

On the first weekend in December we went down to Wimberley for a party our friends have each year. It was almost all older kids and Barrett had a great time watching them play and trying to keep up with them. He also really liked Izzy the resident dog.

Here Barrett is getting some cascarones (eggs filled with confetti) for the big egg fight.

He loved smashing the eggs on our heads and could have done it all night long!
