We took Harrison and Barrett to visit Santa together late one rainy afternoon the first weekend in December. Since we went to an outdoor mall the good news was that the wait wasn't long, but it was cold! We were hoping for a cute picture for our Christmas card. That clearly didn't happen!
Harrison was very excited and asked repeatedly where Rudolph was. He kind of clammed up when he got to actually talk to Santa. And then he broke the candy cane they gave him and that was the end of him. Thankfully they were kind enough to give him another one. Barrett didn't know what to think. Luckily I don't think he remembers much...Hopefully he won't hate us for this later in life.

Visit with Santa Part One
Harrison had two opportunities to visit with Santa this year. The first was at the Junior League breakfast with Santa back in November the weekend before Thanksgiving (I'm waaaay behind on our blog!!). Harrison and I went with his friend Shane and his mom and we had a lot of fun.
I think the highlight of the morning for Harrison was meeting Rudolph. He was totally enamored with him and kept coming back to give him another hug.
He tried hot chocolate and wanted nothing to do with it. Really, he just wanted to wear his reindeer antlers and play on the floor as we waited in line to meet Santa.
When he finally had his turn to talk to Santa he was just adorable, all sweet and shy, and only asked for one thing, a big blue ball.
Here are some pictures from our morning:

Thanksgiving 2011
We had an awesome time at Thanksgiving this year. Our house was full of people, and Harrison and Barrett couldn't have been happier about it!
It was so fun, because someone new arrived just about every day. First, Uncle Richard and Aunt Allison came from London. Next Nonny came, followed the next day by Aunt Susie, Uncle Charles, Jeffrey and Charlie. Then Nana came with Aunt Amy, Uncle Steve and Clarisse.
Barrett enjoyed that there was someone down on the floor with him, and worked really hard at learning to crawl. I really think that's a big part of why he was able to crawl the next week.
Here are some pictures from our fun week:
Harrison had such a great time with everyone and he was really sad when they all left.
He spent a ton of time playing outside with Jeffrey and Charlie and anyone else who would join in the fun. Here they are driving the cars around the cul-de-sac...probably their favorite activity!

Big Week for Baby B!!
Last week was quite a week for Barrett.
He spent the week of Thanksgiving working really hard on learning how to crawl. He was doing a few crawl "steps" at a time, and had a great audience egging him on, since we had so many visitors here (more on that in another post...). Clearly his practice paid off, because as of last Tuesday he is fully mobile.
He has been a really motivated learner, since there are so many toys scattered around that he's interested in getting his hands on. We were thinking back to this age with Harrison, and realized that he just had the standard baby toys around, but Barrett is way more interested in Harrison's toys, so he is just thrilled to be able to get to them.
We also noticed late last week that his first tooth has poked through on the bottom. I know it should be exciting, but I'm really kind of sad because that means I don't have too much longer to enjoy his gummy little smile. I know I'm biased, but it sure is a cute one!
